Government decision to relocate Tashkent airport canceled
The decision envisaged moving the Tashkent airport to a land plot located 45 kilometers southwest of the city and 12 kilometers north of the city of Chinaz.
The decision of the Cabinet of Ministers "On considering certain decisions of the government of the Republic of Uzbekistan as having lost their validity" was adopted. It envisages the cancellation of 493 decisions made between 1989 and 2023.
In particular, the decision of July 24, 1992 "Relocating the Tashkent airport" was canceled. This decision envisages moving the Tashkent airport to a land plot located 45 kilometers southwest of the city and 12 kilometers north of the city of Chinaz.
It should be recalled that in 2020, the chairman of Uzbekistan Airports at that time, Ravshan Ismailov, announced that it was planned to move Tashkent International Airport to Angren or Chinaz in the coming years.
Another former chairman of the board of Uzbekistan Airports, Rano Jurayeva, also mentioned that the possibility of moving the Tashkent International Airport outside the capital in 2022 is being discussed.
