In total, 60 staffers from the offices of 44 senators and congressmen took part in the event. In addition, Republican Congressman Don Bacon, Senior Director for Central Asia at the US National Security Council Brian Todd, and Ambassador of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov were also present at the briefing.

At the beginning of the event, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan separately outlined the results of the reforms being carried out in the country aimed at protecting human rights, developing democratic institutions and ensuring the rule of law, liberalizing the economy and creating a favorable investment climate.

Detailed information was also presented on comprehensive bilateral cooperation in the fields of politics, economics, security and inter-parliamentary interaction. It was noted that a symbolic reflection of the ongoing reforms in the field of human rights in the country is the election of the director of the National Center for Human Rights of Uzbekistan, academician Akmal Saidov, as a member of the UN Human Rights Committee for 2025-2028.

Following the briefing, an agreement was reached with the staffers to maintain regular contacts on topical issues of Uzbek-American interparliamentary cooperation.
