President of South Korea to visit Uzbekistan
President of South Korea Yoon Suk Yeol has proposed to hold a "Republic of Korea - Central Asia" summit. He announced this in a statement to the press during a state visit to Turkmenistan.
"In Turkmenistan, the first country of my Central Asian tour, I proposed holding the first 'Republic of Korea - Central Asia' summit. The President of Turkmenistan expressed full support for our ideas. Both countries agreed to uphold the promotion of this initiative and to closely collaborate in this direction," said Yoon Suk Yeol.
The President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedow, noted that the state visit of the President of South Korea to Turkmenistan would be a landmark event in the history of the development of relations between the two friendly nations.
Yoon Suk Yeol is conducting his first state visit to Turkmenistan in the last five years from June 10 to 11 as part of a tour of Central Asia. After concluding his trip to Ashgabat, he will visit Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
