President of Kyrgyzstan expected to pay a state visit to Uzbekistan

Sadyr Japarov’s state visit to Uzbekistan is planned in the near future. This was announced by Sanjar Bolotov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade of Kyrgyzstan in Bishkek.

On June 13, 2024, the opening ceremony of the Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan business forum was held in Bishkek.

Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade of Kyrgyzstan Sanjar Bolotov expressed sincere gratitude to all the participants for participating in this important event. “Today we discussed the prospects and possibilities of strengthening bilateral economic relations between the Republic of Kyrgyzstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan. Your activity and interest in the development of cooperation is the guarantee of our common success,” the deputy minister said.

He also reminded that recently, on May 2-3, the 11th meeting of the intergovernmental commission was held under the chairmanship of the prime ministers of the two countries. “At this meeting, it was noted that the progress made in the development of our relations, the decisions made at it will serve to further deepen the joint cooperation. We see significant progress in various fields, and this forum was another step towards the realization of the great goals we have set for us,” Sanjar Bolotov said.

In addition, the deputy minister noted that the opening of the trade representative office of the Kyrgyz Republic in Uzbekistan is an important achievement in strengthening economic relations between the two countries. This representative office plays an important role in promoting joint goods and services and establishing business relations between entrepreneurs of the two countries.

In the near future, the state visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov to Uzbekistan is planned. The upcoming meeting of the presidents of the two countries will be an important moment embodying the common will to strengthen friendly relations between the countries, to develop neighborly and mutually beneficial relations.

“Our presidents set us the task of increasing the volume of trade between our countries to $2 billion. This is a big but achievable goal. To achieve this goal, we must work together, use all available tools and mechanisms. I am sure that with joint efforts we will not only achieve this, but also exceed this indicator,” he said.

In the end, the deputy minister expressed hope for successful and effective cooperation between representatives of the business circles of the two countries.
