Uzbekistan and India establishing close cooperation to promote local textile products in foreign markets
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan Sardor Rustambayev met with the MD of the Indian company Triburg Sanjay Shukla.
The Triburg company specializes in placing orders for textile enterprises and has been actively cooperating with well-known brands in Europe, the USA and other countries for more than 30 years.
At the meeting, opportunities for cooperation with Indian specialists to create a portfolio of orders from well-known companies in the world for Uzbek manufacturing enterprises were explored.
To this end, the Embassy recently organized a working visit of the Triburg company to Uzbekistan. Representatives of India took part in the eighth international exhibition “Textiles and Fashion Industry” (UzTextileExpo Spring 2024), held in Tashkent, and got acquainted with the activities and products of textile enterprises located in the Tashkent and Andijan regions.
“Acquaintance with the activities of enterprises in Uzbekistan became a good practical experience for us. The level of development of enterprises, the infrastructure created and the products produced are worthy of attention. Today, Uzbekistan has solid potential and the opportunity to export its products to Europe, America and other regions,” Sanjay Shukla said.
He also noted that the production process in the companies Zelal Textile, Ahsan Apparel, Fayz-M and other enterprises is organized at a high level, and the quality of the products meets international standards. Representatives of Triburg have compiled a collection of samples of products from Uzbek companies, and these samples will be presented during negotiations with the world's leading brands.
“We are very enthusiastically ready for strategic cooperation in this direction. We will provide Uzbek companies with all the services for promoting finished products that we provide to our Indian partners. In this sense, the creation, together with the Uztuqimachiliksanoat Association, of a Center of Expertise in Tashkent could be the first practical step,” the MD added.
At the meeting, Indian experts drew attention to the need to effectively use the opportunities that Uzbekistan is a beneficiary of the “GSP +” of the European Union, and stated that they were interested in working together in the process of actively exporting textile products from Uzbekistan to the European market.
The parties also agreed to establish practical cooperation to ensure compliance with international requirements at production enterprises, improve the knowledge and skills of workers and specialists and other pressing issues related to export activities.
