Uzbekistan sees sharp rise in outbound tourism with 2.2 million travelers
Nearly 2.2 million citizens of Uzbekistan traveled abroad for tourism between January and May 2024, marking a significant increase compared to the same period last year.
According to the Statistics Agency, the number of Uzbek tourists going abroad rose by 569,200, or 35.5%, compared to Jan-May 2023.
During the reporting period, citizens of Uzbekistan traveled mainly to the following countries
• Kyrgyz Republic: 995,300 people
• Tajikistan: 449,800 people
• Kazakhstan: 322,500 people
• Saudi Arabia: 100,200 people
• Russia: 86,500 people
• Turkey: 63,900 people
• United Arab Emirates: 55,700 people
• Kuwait: 16,500 people
• Egypt: 13,500 people
• South Korea: 8,300 people
• Other countries: 59,500 people
