Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Viktor Orban discuss strengthening Uzbekistan-Hungary relations

Today, July 6, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on the sidelines of the informal OTS summit in Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues of Uzbekistan-Hungary multifaceted relations.

The sides noted with satisfaction the steadily developing strategic partnership and practical cooperation between the two countries.

Active dialogues are ongoing at all levels. In May, the joint Intergovernmental Commission meeting and business forum were successfully held in Tashkent.

In recent years, the volume of trade turnover has almost doubled, the number of joint projects and enterprises is increasing, and direct flights between Tashkent and Budapest resumed on June 30.

Special attention was paid to accelerating the implementation of cooperation projects in industries such as industry, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, logistics, construction, and other areas.

The importance of preparing a new portfolio of investment projects and holding the Regional Forum in the city of Kokand by the end of this year was emphasized.

Cooperation in the fields of education, culture, and sports has intensified. The necessity of holding cultural events aimed at bringing the peoples of the two countries closer together was highlighted.

The parties also considered issues of cooperation within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States and the European Union.
