Auezov University to open a branch in Uzbekistan
The branch will offer bachelor's and master's programs in 18 fields.
On July 10, the Cabinet of Ministers issued a decree to open a branch of the South Kazakhstan University named after Auezov (Auezov University) in Uzbekistan. The document was published on Lex.uz.
The branch will be located in the city of Chirchik, Tashkent region. It will provide training for specialists in various economic sectors according to international standards and modern requirements.
Bachelor's and master's programs will be available. Diplomas from Auezov University will be recognized in Uzbekistan.
The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation is tasked with approving and registering the branch's charter and structure within three months. The recruitment of the faculty and teaching staff is planned to be completed by the start of the 2024-2025 academic year.
Admission parameters will be approved in agreement with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, taking into account the needs of other departments. At least 5% of the places should be allocated on a grant basis to applicants with high results and those from needy families.
The opening of the Auezov University branch was included in the roadmap developed following the negotiations between Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. In March, the branch presentation took place in the presence of the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, Kongratbay Sharipov.
Students will be able to study in 18 fields, including economics, law, biotechnology, information systems, mechanical engineering, transport, and others. The branch is planned to open in September.
