Tashkent court sentences 21-year-old man to 10 days for selling Notcoin
The young man who sold cryptocurrency for $150 admitted his guilt and claimed he was unaware of the illegality of his actions.
On July 23, the Chilanzar District Court for criminal cases reviewed the case of a 21-year-old citizen previously subjected to administrative liability for violating cryptocurrency regulations, the Supreme Court said.
According to the case materials, on June 28, a statement from citizen A.A. led to a preliminary investigation by the Tashkent City Police Department. It was established that citizen G.Y. used his phone and a plastic card for illegal cryptocurrency activities.
In court, the young man stated that he sold 20,000 Notcoin for $150. He admitted his guilt and claimed he was unaware of the illegality of his actions.
The court found citizen G.Y. guilty of the offense under Part 1, Article 155-4 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Violation of legislation in the field of cryptocurrency turnover) and sentenced him to 10 days of administrative arrest.
Additionally, it was ordered to destroy the man’s Redmi Note 9 phone.
