New UNDP Resident Representative takes office in Uzbekistan
Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov today received the new UNDP Resident Representative in our country, Akiko Fujii.
“We are pleased to welcome the new UNDP Resident Representative in Uzbekistan, H.E. Akiko Fujii, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today,” the head of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry wrote on his Telegram channel. “We highly appreciate UNDP’s ongoing support for the comprehensive reform program in Uzbekistan. We agreed to work closely together to create the best conditions for sustainable development in our country. We wish Ms. Fujii every success in her future endeavors”.
It should be recalled that Akiko Fujii, a native of Japan who has been working in the UN system since 1996, replaced Matilda Dimovska, who served as the UNDP Resident Representative in Uzbekistan from 2019 to 2023.
