Shavkat Mirziyoyev visits Imam Bukhari's mausoleum in Samarkand
On August 26, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Samarkand and paid his respects at Imam Bukhari's mausoleum. There, the Quran was recited and prayers were offered.
"We are on the eve of the 33rd anniversary of our country's independence. May our independence be everlasting, and may our land be protected from harm. May Allah Himself help us in our efforts to please our people. Our goal in constructing this complex is to further elevate the esteem of our ancestor Imam Bukhari and to create a foundation for proclaiming this to the world. May we have many more such noble endeavors," said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
It was noted that the Imam Bukhari complex is being rebuilt under the president's initiative. The mausoleum's area has been expanded to 600 square meters, with its height increased to 28 meters. A mosque capable of accommodating 10,000 people has been constructed. The 75-meter minarets at the four corners of the complex add grandeur to it. Currently, the construction and engineering works have been completed, and the finishing phase has begun, with special attention given to national traditions and warm colors.
The president inspected the construction and finishing works and emphasized the need to implement modern and safe management in the complex.
"This complex should become a great spiritual pillar," said the President.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev gave instructions to restore sacred sites in all districts and cities and to correctly convey their history and significance.
The president also inspected the future museum.
