Industrial growth reaches 7% as Uzbekistan launches 1,300 new facilities, aiming for more by year's end
By the end of the year, the goal is to ensure the production of an additional 30 trillion UZS worth of goods.
On August 28, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on enhancing productivity in the industrial sector, according to the president's press service.
Since the beginning of the year, the volume of industrial production has reached 435 trillion UZS, marking a 7.1% increase compared to the same period in 2023. The highest growth rates were observed in the electrical engineering, textile, leather industries, and the automotive sector.
A total of 1,300 industrial facilities have been launched, capable of producing goods worth 40 trillion UZS. However, in 14 districts, growth was below 2%, and in 4 districts, production volumes decreased compared to last year.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, Jamshid Kuchkarov, reported on the results of work across enterprises. To date, an analysis of 112,000 firms in the regions has been conducted to address their most urgent issues.
Companies are being assisted with replenishing working capital, supplying electricity and gas, and receiving tax support. By the end of the year, conditions will be created for the additional production of industrial goods worth 30 trillion UZS.
Responsible individuals have been assigned to enterprises based on the number of employees. The goal is to train entrepreneurs in modern approaches and to develop targeted programs for industrially-oriented districts in each region.
