Anti-Corruption Agency discovers 398 ministry officials running businesses while in office

Investigations by the Anti-Corruption Agency revealed that 398 management employees from the Ministries of Construction and Housing and Communal Services, Water Resources, and Agriculture were actively engaged in entrepreneurial activities as founders of business entities.

The Anti-Corruption Agency conducted studies to examine the involvement of employees from ministries, government agencies, and state institutions in entrepreneurial activities.

According to the agency’s press service, investigations into the ministries of Construction and Housing and Communal Services, Water Resources, and Agriculture, along with their affiliated organizations, found that 398 management employees were actively engaged as founders in 449 business entities. Specifically:

93 management employees from the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services were involved in 112 business entities.
26 management employees from the Ministry of Water Resources were involved in 35 business entities.
279 management employees from the Ministry of Agriculture were involved in 302 business entities.
According to the agency, recommendations were submitted to the ministries to address these violations, and measures have been taken to eliminate the identified legal breaches.

The Anti-Corruption Agency has urged citizens to report cases of corruption through the 1253 call center or the eanticor.uz electronic platform.
