According to the presidential decree, the primary objective of the state’s socio-economic policy for the remainder of this year is to lift 500,000 residents out of poverty, with a target of 1 million by 2025.

The program “From Poverty to Prosperity” will commence on November 1 and will operate under the principle of “Seven Opportunities and Responsibilities for Impoverished Families.” It aims to achieve stable employment, access to education, guaranteed state healthcare, social services, and improved living conditions.

Beginning December 1, 2024, the National Social Protection Agency will form a registry of impoverished families based on the results of an assessment of their social conditions and the reasons for their poverty, conducted by community leaders.

Starting January 1, 2025:

•  Employment assistance and material support for children from low-income families will continue for officially unemployed family members receiving benefits, but for no longer than six months.
•  For family members listed in the Registry of Impoverished Families who secure employment with a monthly salary of at least 1.5 times the minimum wage, the social tax will be reduced to 1% for three years.
•  Support measures for impoverished families will be provided based on a social contract that considers conditions such as ensuring employment for able-bodied family members, effective use of household land, education, vocational training, and language learning for family members, including children, as well as health monitoring and maintaining household cleanliness.

This comprehensive approach reflects Uzbekistan's commitment to reducing poverty and enhancing the well-being of its citizens.
