Uzbekistan has officially established diplomatic relations with Burundi, according to an announcement by Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov.

The agreement was formalized at the United Nations headquarters in New York, where Saidov and his Burundian counterpart, Albert Shingiro, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation, signed a joint communiqué.

“This document will serve as a fundamental legal framework for unlocking the potential of bilateral cooperation between our two countries,” Saidov stated on his Telegram channel.

With this agreement, Burundi becomes the 152nd country with which Uzbekistan has established diplomatic relations.

Earlier, Uzbekistan also established diplomatic relations with Seychelles and Cabo Verde, reflecting the nation’s commitment to building partnerships across the globe.
