Uzbekistan establishes diplomatic relations with Togo, expanding ties in Africa
Uzbekistan has officially established diplomatic relations with the Togolese Republic, marking another milestone in its growing ties with African nations. This was confirmed following a meeting between Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister, Bakhtiyor Saidov, and Togo's Foreign Minister, Robert Dussey, in New York.
"Togo has become the 155th country with which Uzbekistan has established diplomatic relations," Saidov announced on his official Telegram channel. During the meeting, the two ministers signed a Joint Communiqué formalizing the diplomatic relationship between the two countries.
Saidov highlighted the potential for developing mutually beneficial cooperation with African nations, noting the strategic importance of these partnerships.
This new relationship follows a recent agreement between Uzbekistan and Liberia, where the two countries also signed a Joint Communiqué on establishing diplomatic ties, further strengthening Uzbekistan's diplomatic outreach across the African continent.
