Uzbekistan invested 216 trillion UZS in education development over seven years
Uzbekistan has allocated 216 trillion UZS for the development of its education system over the past seven years, according to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The president made this announcement during a dialogue with representatives of the education sector, highlighting the country's significant investment in educational infrastructure and resources.
Out of the total amount, 19.5 trillion UZS were used to strengthen the material and technical base of schools and preschools across the country. This funding facilitated the reconstruction and construction of 6,000 public schools and 3,500 kindergartens.
The growth of private educational institutions has been particularly notable during this period. The number of private schools surged from just 27 to 500, while non-governmental kindergartens saw an even more remarkable increase, from 250 to 30,000.
In his remarks, President Mirziyoyev emphasized the important role that educators play in shaping the future of the nation. “Every teacher, mentor, kindergarten principal, and school director must, in a certain way, be a strategist. They need to deeply understand that they serve great goals which determine the fate and future of the people, and act on that basis,” he said.
