Cryptocurrency miner faces legal action for 5.5 billion UZS electricity theft in Samarkand
A man in the Samarkand region has been caught illegally using electricity to power over 50 cryptocurrency mining devices.
During an operation conducted by the Samarkand Regional Department of Internal Affairs and UzEnergoInspection, a case of illegal electricity use was uncovered in the Toyloq district. The investigation revealed that a resident of the "Chorogbon" neighborhood, identified as E.S., had illegally connected 55 mining devices to the public electrical grid for commercial purposes.
According to preliminary calculations, the financial damage caused by this unauthorized electricity consumption amounted to 5.528 billion UZS.
All relevant documents related to the incident have been prepared and forwarded to the law enforcement authorities for further action.
