Uzbekistan gains BRICS partner status alongside 12 other nations
Uzbekistan has officially been granted partner status in the BRICS organization, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
The announcement was made following the BRICS summit held in Kazan.
The newly recognized BRICS partner nations include Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Algeria, Belarus, Bolivia, Cuba, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, Uganda, and Vietnam.
According to journalist Vladimir Solovyov, obtaining partner status is a crucial step toward full membership in the bloc.
Earlier, Kun.uz reported that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev traveled to Kazan to participate in the BRICS summit. During the event, he held meetings with key global leaders, including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
