Parliamentary elections: Preliminary results released
The CEC has announced the preliminary results of the parliamentary elections held on October 27.
Zayniddin Nizamkhodjaev, the Chair of the Central Election Commission, revealed at a briefing in Tashkent that 15,027,529 out of the 19,944,000 registered voters participated in the election, resulting in a turnout of 74.72 percent.
In the Legislative Chamber elections, the Uzbekistan Liberal Democratic Party (UzLiDeP) led with 34.75 percent of the votes, securing 26 seats. The "National Revival" Democratic Party followed with 18.82 percent and 14 seats, the Ecological Party with 13.12 percent and 10 seats, the People's Democratic Party with 17.11 percent and 13 seats, and the "Justice" Social Democratic Party with 16.20 percent and 12 seats.
Additional seats were allocated through single-mandate districts, with UzLiDeP receiving 38, the "National Revival" Party 15, the Ecological Party 6, the People's Democratic Party 7, and the "Justice" Social Democratic Party 9 seats.
This brings the total distribution of seats in the Legislative Chamber to:
- UzLiDeP: 64 seats
- "National Revival": 29 seats
- "Justice": 21 seats
- People's Democratic Party: 20 seats
- Ecological Party: 16 seats
The finalized composition of the Legislative Chamber reflects Uzbekistan’s multiparty system and sets the stage for the next legislative period.
