2025 budget draft: Uzbekistan to allocate 6.6 trillion UZS for wage and pension hikes
The Ministry of Economy and Finance has announced a planned allocation of 6.6 trillion UZS from the 2025 state budget to cover wage, pension, scholarship, and social benefit increases, as well as adjustments to select service tariffs.
The budget proposal, outlined in the draft law “On the State Budget of Uzbekistan for 2025,” was recently introduced, detailing fiscal provisions for primary budget allocations to various sectors.
Alongside this funding for social welfare, projections for local budgets in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, provincial regions, and Tashkent city have also been made available.
The government anticipates a 6% GDP growth in 2025, driven primarily by a projected 6.1% increase in industrial production, 4.1% growth in agriculture, and a robust 14.5% expansion in market services.
The 2025 budget draft sets national revenues at 308.5 trillion UZS, with expenditures forecasted to reach 344.6 trillion UZS.
