IT Park Uzbekistan establishes Seoul office, fostering growth in digital collaboration
IT Park Uzbekistan has opened a new representative office in Seoul, aiming to foster stronger ties between Uzbek and South Korean technology companies. The office, which began operations on October 30, was launched under the Uzbekistan-Korea IT Business Alliance to promote collaborative opportunities within the tech sectors of both nations.
This initiative builds on an earlier agreement signed on June 27 between IT Park and the Korean International Institute of Industrial Cooperation (KIIIC). In July, KIIIC reciprocated by establishing its own representative office in Tashkent, furthering the countries' IT partnership. The Seoul office marks IT Park’s second overseas branch, following the opening of a location in Germany in 2022, which supports IT Park’s expansion across Europe.
Jahongir Radjabov, IT Park’s Director of Business Development, described the new Seoul office as “a seed that will grow into a solid foundation for a long-term partnership between Uzbekistan and South Korea.” He emphasized the interest of Uzbekistan’s digital sector in benefiting from South Korea’s expertise in artificial intelligence, game development, and cloud technologies, and expressed intentions to train skilled specialists for the Korean market.
Jeong Ok Rae, Chairman of KIIIC, affirmed his organization’s commitment to serving as a bridge between IT Park and Korean business associations. Within the alliance, plans are underway to establish focused “mini-alliances” in areas such as game development, smart pharmaceuticals, and cloud technology.
Reflecting the success of Uzbekistan's digital exports to South Korea, the export of digital services from Uzbekistan to the Korean market increased 4.6 times in the first three quarters of this year compared to the same period last year. IT Park anticipates continued growth in collaboration with South Korean firms, positioning Uzbekistan as a rising global IT hub.
