In a major economic development, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev recently inaugurated 15 large-scale investment projects worth a total of $3.6 billion in the Navoi region. These projects are expected to generate over 7,000 new jobs and stimulate growth across various sectors in the region.
During his visit, President Mirziyoyev attended a ceremony in Navoi with representatives from the local government and community members. The event highlighted the strategic initiatives aimed at boosting the region’s industrial, energy, and agricultural capacities. The president introduced the projects by pressing a symbolic button, officially launching the construction and operation of these ambitious initiatives.
Among the newly announced ventures, notable projects include the extraction and processing of oil shale in Konimekh district, as well as the construction of a 300-megawatt solar photovoltaic power plant and a 75-megawatt energy storage system in Karmana district. In Navoi city, facilities for technical gas production are under development, while Gozon city will see investments in marble processing and Zarafshan city in granite processing. Additionally, the Uchquduq district will focus on kaolin mining and enrichment, and a fish feed production project is underway in Khatirchi district.
Several other facilities have already commenced operations, including potassium sulfate and sulfuric acid plants in Karmana, a cotton cellulose factory in Navoi city, and a granite processing enterprise in Nurata district.
These projects form part of Uzbekistan's broader plan to diversify its economy, increase domestic production capabilities, and provide a significant boost to local employment. By enhancing resource processing and renewable energy infrastructure, these developments are positioned to contribute to Uzbekistan's sustainable economic goals and energy independence.
