A key focus of the meeting was on expediting the approval of a new Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (EPCA), a framework aimed at deepening cooperation across various fields. Both leaders also discussed preparations for the upcoming "Central Asia-European Union" summit, the first of its kind, which is expected to further bolster regional cooperation and integration.

This recent engagement marks the continuation of a series of high-level discussions between the two leaders. Mirziyoyev and Michel previously met in June 2023 during the president’s visit to Kyrgyzstan, and they also convened in New York when the leader of Uzbekistan visited the United States in September.

Through this ongoing dialogue, Uzbekistan and the EU are exploring ways to deepen collaboration, with the EPCA and the upcoming regional summit likely to play crucial roles in shaping future relations.
