Mirziyoyev inspected from a helicopter areas of Bukhara affected by natural disaster
On April 28, the President of Uzbekistan, arriving in the Bukhara region, visited the places most affected by the natural disaster.
It should be recalled that on the night of April 27, a storm blew from the territory of Turkmenistan to Bukhara, Navoi, Samarkand and Kashkadarya regions with gusts of up to 9-40 meters a second. As a result of the storm, several citizens sustained injuries, one person died. Infrastructure facilities, vehicles, houses, crops bore damage.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the situation in the Karakul and Olot districts by flying over by helicopter.
In the Olot district center, the leader of our country met with local residents and public figures.
The head of state noted with regret that the storm proved unprecedented in terms of impact on people’s lives, agricultural activities and other areas.
United in face of such disasters, our people have always overcome many trials. Essential measures will be taken this time, as well, and the consequences of the calamity will be quickly eliminated. Crucially, if we do not lose confidence in ourselves and act together, we will come out of these difficulties strong, the President stressed.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed relevant officials on the repair of housing and infrastructure facilities, and the provision of comprehensive assistance to the population. The head of state identified operational measures regarding agriculture, economic sectors and public safety.
