Uzbekistan to place Eurobonds worth $500 million in 2024
To expand their activities, self-employed people will be provided with an unsecured loan in the amount of 100 million soums.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev has instructed to place Eurobonds worth $500 million in 2024, the presidential press secretary Sherzod Asadov reported.
At the end of this year, the financial sector is expected to grow by 20%. To support the industry, the Business Development Bank and the Entrepreneurship Development Company were recently created, and microfinance institutions were authorized to provide basic banking services.
Next year, the volume of financial services provided should increase by 30% – up to 140 trillion soums.
As part of the “Family Entrepreneurship” program, an unsecured loan of 50 million soums will be provided to an entrepreneur with a positive credit history who has launched his own micro-business.
At today’s meeting, it was proposed to provide the self-employed, of whom there are 2.4 million people, with a preferential loan with transfer to a card, subject to the payment of an annual social tax in the amount of 340 thousand soums.
To expand their activities and start a business, the self-employed will also be provided with an unsecured loan in the amount of 100 million soums with payment of up to half the amount to a bank card.
In addition, the President ordered that vacant land be put up for auction for the creation of private medical and educational institutions.
The share of IT services in the country's GDP is 3-3.5%, which indicates that the potential is not being fully used. In 2024, the volume of IT services is planned to increase by 30%, to 41 trillion soums, and their exports – to double.
