“Old tariffs will be valid for 2 months if residents prepay for electricity and gas” – Ministry of Energy
Debtors or subscribers with a zero balance will pay for gas and electricity at new tariffs from May 1.
The Ministry of Energy explained what tariffs will apply to consumers who have prepaid for gas and electricity before May 1.
According to the Rules for the use of electricity and natural gas, the consumer can make an advance payment for the use of electrical energy for a period of no more than 2 months, without recalculating the amount when the tariff changes.
Thus, the old tariffs will be valid for two months for consumers who have made advance payments for gas and electricity.
For example, if on April 30 1.1 million soums are deposited into the account, then in May, with a consumption of 1,000 kWh, 59 thousand soums will be debited from the personal account for 200 kWh (at a tariff of 295 soums), 472 thousand soums will be written off (590 soums each) for the next 800 kWh – a total of 531 thousand soums. Payments will be made in the same way in June. From July 1, payment for 1 kWh within the social norm will already be 450 soums.
“However, for debtors or subscribers who ran out of money in their personal account in early May and made a new payment, the tariff will change, and they will start paying 450 soums per 1 kWh within the social norm,” the Ministry of Energy explained.
It should be recalled that from May 1, the cost of 1 kWh of electricity will increase from 295 to 450 soums (within the social norm of 200 kWh), the cost of 1 cubic meter of natural gas – from 380 to 650 soums.
