On November 17, a tragic gas explosion occurred in a residential home in the Jondor district of the Bukhara region, leaving two family members dead and two others injured. The explosion, which took place at approximately 5:30 a.m., has been confirmed by two independent sources cited by Kun.uz.

The explosion resulted in severe burn injuries for four members of the family, including the parents and their two daughters. Tragically, the 41-year-old father and mother succumbed to their injuries, having suffered burns covering over 75% of their bodies. The daughters, who were also injured, are reportedly in stable condition. Fortunately, the family’s two sons were unharmed in the incident.

Emergency responders transported the injured to the Bukhara branch of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Aid. The Ministry of Emergency Situations and Hududgaztaminot have stated they are investigating the circumstances of the explosion and will provide an official explanation in due course.

On November 22, the Prosecutor General’s Office initiated a criminal case under Article 259 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to violations of fire safety regulations. Law enforcement agencies are currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the explosion and any potential accountability.

This tragic event is one of several recent gas-related incidents in Uzbekistan. On October 22, a gas explosion in Samarkand’s Qo'shrabot district claimed the lives of four members of a single family. Similarly, on October 21, in Andijan’s Jalakuduk district, four individuals died from gas poisoning, while four others from the same household were hospitalized.
