Uzbekistan sends humanitarian aid and doctors to Afghanistan

Uzbekistan has sent humanitarian aid, including food and medical supplies, to Afghanistan, along with a group of doctors. From December 25 to 30, Uzbek doctors will provide free medical check-ups for the population in the Afghan province of Balkh.

Following the instructions of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Uzbekistan dispatched humanitarian assistance, comprising food products and medicines, to Afghanistan, as reported by the press service of the Surkhandarya regional administration.

Additionally, from December 25 to 30, residents of Balkh province will have the opportunity to receive free medical consultations from qualified Uzbek doctors. 

The delivery of the humanitarian aid was made at the request of the Afghan side, which was raised during a bilateral meeting between the governments of the two countries, according to the statement.

The transportation of the aid was coordinated by Ulugbek Kosimov, the governor of Surkhandarya region, along with representatives from the ministries of Transport and Foreign Affairs, and Uzbekistan Railways.
