Cybercriminal Norkul Rakhmatov prosecuted in Samarkand city
The Samarkand city court on criminal proceedings held hearings on the case of 60-year-old Norkul Rakhmatov, who with the help of the Internet misappropriated funds of more than 500 citizens.
According to the program “Zamon” of the TV channel “Sevimli”, Norkul Rakhmatov developed the game “Electronic wallet” and created a financial pyramid through it. For each participant of his virtual game, he promised 600,000 soums, as well as other bonuses for those who attracted their friends. Participants proceeded to the next stages and could even earn money. Around 7,000 people played his virtual game.
The report says that the defendant studied programming in the European countries, where he went breaking the rules for traveling abroad. In addition, it became known that he is the creator of electronic wallet e-sum.uz and oltinyul.uz.
As the judge Gayrat Negmatov said, the accused received a term of 5 years imprisonment, as well as a fine in the amount of 100 MMW. In addition, the court obliged him to pay the damage.
