Denis Istomin to start Olympic Games against Sumit Nagal

Istomin starts the race on July 24.

In the first match, he will face 23-year-old Sumit Nagal from India. Nagal is ranked 160 in the APR rating, while Istomin occupies the 197th position.

34-year-old Denis Istomin takes part in the Olympic tennis tournament based on a wild card (a tournament entry awarded to a player at the discretion of the organizers).

In case of victory, Denis Istomin may meet in the second round either with Daniil Medvedev (Russia) or with Alexander Bublik (Kazakhstan).

It should be noted that one of the main contenders for victory in the Olympic tennis tournament is Novak Djokovic.
