Tashkent Zoo provides information about conditions created for animals during frosty days (photo report)
There are more than 10,000 animals of 360 species in the Tashkent Zoo. After a sharp drop in air temperature, some of these animals were transferred to a warm place, while animals that are resistant to cold weather are kept under the open sky.
The Tashkent Zoo administration provided information about the conditions created for the animals during the frosty days.
“While people are preparing for them, armed with warm clothes and heating devices, our animals are walking calmly among the enclosures, because we have thought of everything for their warmth,” the Tashkent Zoo said in its official Telegram channel.
It is noted that the death of fish and other aquatic creatures was prevented.
“In the “Aquarium” section, everything is thought out to the smallest detail. Generators kick in during power outages, which can happen in cold weather. All this is done to provide them with oxygen on a continuous 24/7 basis.
In addition, the general temperature in the room where our animals are kept is provided by the central heating system, day and night video surveillance and the duty of the staff allows to always be aware of how the residents feel,” the official report reads.
Cold-resistant animals are kept under the open sky. In particular, there is an underground heating system in the “Terrarium”, “Predators” and “Primates” sections. Also, the entrance between the outer and inner parts of the enclosure is always open so that the animals can walk in the fresh air, and in case of rain, they can walk indoors. Natural heating pads made of straw are placed in some animal cages.
For information, the Tashkent Zoo has been temporarily closed in order to ensure the safety of guests, as the trees began to break due to the weight of the snow on their branches.
