About 21 thousand cases of customs legislation violations identified in 2023 – SCC
The SCC summed up the activities of customs authorities in the outgoing year.
The State Customs Committee held a board meeting dedicated to the results of the activities of customs authorities in 2023, the SCC press service reported.
At the meeting, it was noted that this year 58.4 trillion soums of customs duties were credited to the state budget, an increase of 27% compared to last year.
In 2023, customs officers seized from illicit trafficking about 9.2 tons of narcotic drugs, 663 thousand units of psychotropic and potent substances, 21 thousand prohibited materials, 21 weapons, and 8,626 units of ammunition, as well as material assets worth 28 billion soums.
In addition, during this period, 62 kg of jewelry, 5.6 million soums worth of illegal tobacco products and 4.8 million pieces of pyrotechnics were seized.
In total, more than 21 thousand cases of violations of customs legislation were identified and the illegal circulation of goods worth almost 1 trillion soums was prevented.
