Uzbekistan aims to produce 450,000 cars in 2024. This goal is included in the state program for 2024.
According to the draft of the state program, within the framework of the implementation of the program to increase the production volume of passenger cars to 1 million units by 2030, it is planned to implement the following in 2024:
• Creating a transparent and level playing field for all existing and new manufacturers in the domestic automotive industry;
• Launching a full cycle production project of 10,000 electric cars and hybrid cars in Jizzakh region in cooperation with China's BYD company;
• Achieving the production of 450,000 cars by local automotive enterprises in 2024;
• By May 2024, launch a full-cycle production project of cars under the Korean KIA brand on the basis of the ADM Jizzakh enterprise in the Jizzakh region;
• Launching of the 2nd stage of the project "Launching a modern workshop for casting metal products" in Andijan region.
At the same time, it is planned to increase the level of localization of Onix and Tracker cars to 55% on average, national tractors to at least 35%, suspension equipment and trailers to 60%.
“Uzavtosanoat” JSC (Ulugbek Rozukulov) has been tasked with implementing these goals.
Earlier, it was reported that more than 355 thousand cars were produced in Uzbekistan in 11 months of 2023.
