Criminal group members who attempted to smuggle a large shipment of drugs into Uzbekistan detained in Kyrgyzstan
Employees of the Service for Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, together with employees of the State Committee for National Security, detained members of a criminal group and seized more than 16 kilograms of drugs.
The MIA employees conducted a special search operation to detain members of an organized group who were smuggling drugs into the Republic of Uzbekistan through the Aksy and Ala-Buka regions.
It was established that a certain citizen organized a stable channel for transporting narcotic drugs in especially large quantities from Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan.
A criminal case has been initiated on this fact under Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The special operation to expose the criminal group lasted since the winter of 2024 and, thanks to the painstaking work of MIA operatives, was completed successfully. Another drug trafficking channel has been eliminated.
As a result of an event carried out by law enforcement officers for organizing drug trafficking, a previously convicted native of the Toktogul region, citizen J.A. (born in 1978), known in the criminal community under the nickname “Japayi” (wild), who was operationally registered by the MIA as a member of an organized criminal drug group, was detained.
During the operation, 16,107 kilograms of hashish were seized. The investigation on the criminal case continues.
