Abbosbek Fayzullaev named Asia's Best Young Player
At the prestigious annual awards ceremony hosted by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), Uzbekistan’s Abbosbek Fayzullaev was named Asia’s Best Young Player of 2024. Fayzullaev, who represents both the Uzbekistan national team and Russia’s CSKA Moscow, emerged victorious over notable contenders, Japan’s Gaku Nawata and South Korea’s Bae Jun-ho from Daejeon Citizen FC.
The ceremony, held in Seoul, celebrated top football talent from across the continent. Fayzullaev, at just 21 years old, earned the coveted title after an outstanding year marked by strong performances in both league and international competitions.
Fayzullaev’s journey to this accolade has been marked by significant achievements since joining CSKA Moscow in 2023. Over the past year, he made 33 appearances in the Russian Premier League, scoring six goals and contributing nine assists.
Additionally, he played a pivotal role for Uzbekistan in the AFC Asian Cup held in Qatar, scoring two goals across five matches. Fayzullaev also represented his country in the qualifying rounds of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, participating in ten matches.
